As we age, sometimes we don’t eat enough of the right foods.
Are you getting enough protein every day?
How about getting vitamins and minerals from vegetables?
Do you want to lose weight?
Don’t have time for a healthy breakfast?
Here’s a green smoothie recipe that will make it all easier!
There are many smoothie recipes out there and some of them are really good.
This one is my favorite, because I like the ingredients used.
You can add or subtract to your taste, as long as you keep the main nutrient powders.
I’m sharing my own smoothie recipe here, to give you a place to start. Smoothies can give what your body needs in one drink.
“I may be compensated (at no cost to you) through the links in the post below, but the opinions are my own.”
Benefits
30 grams of Protein, 50 different vegetables and berries, plus 1 billion probiotics.
Since it is in powder form, the Superfoods digest quickly.
It has the nutrients you need to maintain a healthy, strong body.
It’s quick and easy to make and also, very tasty.
It is a low cost replacement for a full meal.
If you are trying to lose weight, Mayo Clinic suggests using smoothies as a meal replacement instead of a drink with your meal.
Ingredients
Whey Protein Powder, Orgain Superfoods, banana, strawberries(or blueberries), water, spinach, and 1 raw egg if desired.
Did you know that Blueberries can lower your risk for cancer and heart disease?
How to Make it
Pour 1 cup of water into a blender.
Some may like almond milk or oat milk, but these will add calories.
Add 1 scoop of Vanilla Whey protein powder, 1 scoop of Orgain Superfoods, 3 frozen strawberries or a handful of frozen blueberries, 1 banana, and 1 raw egg for 6 extra grams of protein. (vanilla protein powder tastes better).
I then add about 5 spinach leaves for my leafy greens. Spinach is also rich in Vitamin C among other nutrients.
Get fresh berries and keep them in the freezer.
Blend for 5 to 10 seconds or until the strawberries are chopped up.
You can also throw in a couple of ice cubes before you blend, if the strawberries don’t make it cold enough for you.

Conclusion
I do Intermittent Fasting as my eating lifestyle, so I don’t have my first meal until around 11:00 AM.
I usually start the day with oatmeal and will have one of these around 3 PM.
I can have a meal replacement in less than 5 minutes.
One of these drinks per day gives me all of the nutrients I need for the day concerning vitamins and minerals.
It also cuts back on any cravings for sweets.
You can use peanut butter and cocoa powder instead of the fruit.
These are healthy fats.
I made one for my girl friend the other day and she immediately bought a personal blender just to make these smoothies.
Check out my post on Intermittent Fasting if you want to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle too.
I use Orgain Superfoods which was invented by Dr. Andrew Abraham while undergoing cancer therapy.
